I personally prefer the second option. I feel it brings the player into the action more as well as speeding up the feel of gameplay as the camera is closer to the vehicle gives the allusion of faster movement.

Thanks! Entirely agree. The other camera is great at keeping all human players in frame but also changes the overall feel of the gameplay. Once I get further into dev I'll share split screen gameplay etc.

Having the option to switch might feel best in terms of driving, but the camera angle is going to heavily effect the game's design. Adding player agency to camera may not work the best in terms of game design. If I had to choose 1 then maybe something in between? Looks good!

I appreciate the thought on this! Totally agree on the camera defining the game feel. I've been going back and forth between these two. In a couple of weeks I'll share some multiplayer versions to see what everyone thinks with that context.
