It’s not about an exact sub count (or views)–having a large community is 1 part, other factors are around authenticity and prominence, such as being highly searched or having the potential to be confused with channels that have similar names. More here: https://yt.be/help/3QfB

Surely anyone with a sizable audience has the right to be verified so folk don't steal their content. Isn't verification just you proving that you are you? It feels like you're changing things so that only celebrities, companies and channels you endorse are getting verified.
