Trees are so alien. So much concentrated mass. Appreciate them though. S/O to trees.pic.twitter.com/hweGPiaG2q

"Alien" primarily referred to temperament. Symbolically they've been objects of stability, endurance etc. Most humans lust after these qualities but are caught in self-imposed states of tension. Would be interested to hear what you made of my aesthetic orientation also.
Addition: Temperament, but also the fact that humans are far more nebulous inherently. That state of being (the tree) for the common man is alien; only those who achieve some degree of a diminished Ego will ever know what it's like to be stable in that sense.
I won’t presume to know anything about your aesthetic orientation. I will lightly suggest, however, that we don’t look to other nonhuman entities to understand ourselves. We are not trees. We are those nebulous primate. But they are of the same stuff we are, so in a sense related
I think it’s just another delusion/fantasy/ego-trip to even want to seek the stability of a tree. All ego desires to seek false stability ate part of the denial of death and hooked to desires to escape the truth of process and finitude.
Interesting thoughts. Would be interested to flesh out this topic in long-form exchange if you are also willing.
DM me and we’ll see where it goes :)
