Many times, particularly flying to Castlegar, Masset and even Kelowna. Oh and Cranbrook and Revelstoke. Yes, this is actually quite common. Then there’s Smithers or Terrace. But still, the most exciting is Trail where you take off flying directly toward a mountainside.

Comox to YVR our Dash 7 was the last plane to land in an intense snow storm. Pilot asked for all the emergency lights on runway turned on just as we landing. Lit up the cockpit like full daylight and then we were on the ground.

Glad it all went well! I had a similar experience. From Mexico City to Toronto at Christmas - couldn't land in Toronto so went onto Montreal!
