Decriminalization doesn’t go far enough. It doesn’t change the fact that organized crime is the source of drugs in this country. The drug supply needs to be regulated. Along with decriminalization.

As the mother of a recovering addict (2 years clean), we need more addiction treatment programs, counselling services, acceptance as a medical condition, & mental health funding. Access is very limited, expensive & often ineffective w/o a multifaceted approach.

What a simplistic and mean spirited message. My daughter suffered from severe mental illness and trauma. We spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on rehabs. She wanted to be well. She didn't make it. She was 25. My daughter was not "sorted out by nature." We love her so much.

I hope we are all paying attention to this deadly news.
We must address this crisis as a society. Decriminalization may not be popular with some but it is smart progressive public policy like this that must be considered.
