The Wet’suwet’en house system of governance has existed for many 100’s of years over all of their territories. Band Councils are the equivalent of a Municipality and have no jurisdiction outside of the boundaries of a reservation.

For any level of government or industry partners to pretend otherwise is extremely disrespectful and the direct cause of this conflict.
