She said at the time that it wasn't her goal to get SNC punished (or not), just to let the case go ahead without political interference. She didn't even make the no-DPA decision, but just declined to overrule the public prosecutor.

Would have been way worse for them under a DPA - far higher financial penalties, and a much longer period of government oversight. Proud of yourself?

And their stock just went up. Wasn't Trudeau and the Liberal's deference for meddling in this case that not offering a DPA would destroy jobs and destabilize the company?

The corruption charges against the parent company and marketing arm were dropped which means they wont be barred from bidding on govt work. The sentence was far less than what a DPA would have been
