I am 66 yr old, planning to have a meaning full life, not necessarily a comfortable one. This week our soup kitchen opened, with as much enthusiasm from clients as from volunteers. We are building community, pushing back crime & serving mental health. Taking back from slumlords.

So perfectly articulated! Thank you for focus on to the issue of social isolation amongst seniors. Indigenous culture models the way, elders should be respected, cared for and valued for their knowledge. .

Could I add, drawing from yours, and other cultures, propagating the veneration of our senior citizens once again?

Very real issues......need some creative societal efforts, including intergenerational awareness and action (e.g. Elemementary/ high schools/colleges) and neighbourhood watch besides paid professional interventions.
