C-75 is at essence regressive & represents failure to do what was needed: instead of removing most Mandatory Minimums & restoring CSO’s, C-75 increases sentences, eliminates critical preliminary inquiries, & hampers fair jury selection. C-75 represents missed opportunity & harm.

Higher jail sentences, eliminating many preliminary inquiries and hampering jury selection, thus ensuring unfair juries, is nothing to be proud of.

This government had one job in criminal law reform and they didn’t do it

#C75's amendments to jury selection are at best well intentioned. But removing checks and balances on the government is incredibly shortsighted "The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding" Brandeis J.Thanks. Never would have thought that things could possibly get worse for those facing criminal charges and loss of liberty than after 9 years of Harper’s cynical legislation. But you did just that. There are going to be a lot more of wrongful convictions because of your reactionary bill.

"Pleased"? She should be ashamed. Good riddance as Justice Minister.

Still a liberal I guess. C-75 = slap on the wrist for groomers, gang members etc. Sickening legislation. Our "justice" system is already a joke, and you have gutted it even further.
