This is a slightly unusual public response to being moved from one of the (indisputably) most important Cabinet portfolios to one that (regardless of the good and necessary work being done) is not. It reads as an apology for/in defence of her work at Justice.

You called yourself a "child of the Charter" and you totally failed to uphold the Charter rights (sec. 7, 8, 15) of Canadians whom #USA calls "US Persons". You defended the unconstitutional C-31 #FATCA IGA law. Disgraceful. #Hypocrisy @JustinTrudeau @scottbrison @MarcGarneau
