I asked a professor why health insurance is tied to employment. His answer was that post-ww2 taxes were so high that employers gave lots of benefits to employees. These benefits allowed businesses to compete for talent as simply a higher wage just meant more taxes.

It makes so much sense that everyone has the right of health insurance & everyone gets the same great plan. And you keep it from birth to death no matter were you live or where or if you work. AND it would be massively easier and cheaper to administer if gov. is the single payer!
