I feel that people tend to fall on two sides of a dividing line: they take responsibility for their own actions and feelings, or they do not. This pandemic is a catalyst for change, granting each of us this same opportunity for growth. Which side will you be on?

Adversity is always a teaching moment if we approach it with a healthy mindset. Be it online harassment and bullying, or a pandemic. Each moment is an opportunity for introspection. The more difficult and challenging it is, the more room for growth.

Every researcher knows the “publish and/or perish” culture: the fact that we are evaluated primarily based on the journals that we publish in, rather than any intrinsic merit or quality of our work. Countless ink has been spilled criticising this system.

The little meditation series I've been working on is now available on YouTube! My hope is that at least a few people find these useful with helping to cope with what is a challenging time. 1: Super-beginners guide to meditation

Some lessons from the Coronavirus so far. 1. Inequities are everywhere in our society. Most of them are structurally designed. 2. There was always enough money. Political will was the barrier. 3. Some will take responsibility, and seek to learn from this. And some will not.

When a scientific publisher provides free access to life-saving research during a pandemic, they show us that this decision is technically simple. Flip a switch. The decision to prevent access to similar life-saving research for literally EVERYTHING ELSE is purely financial.
