For most purposes, "logic" is a kind of myth which we gesture at to indicate a variety of problems.
The common usage seems mostly unproblematic. Not sure whether it's harmful or helpful overall.

In the one hand, it's good to aspire to higher standards of discourse.

On the other, it's used as a generic way to disagree and sound like you've provided a further reason for disagreeing.
