Hypothesis: most people who live in media-rich environments can experience good original music in dreams. But most can't compose good music while awake. So their brains possess a very advanced skill that is hidden from conscious access. Is there anything else like this?

I'm very unsure, and my intuition is probably a combination of my understanding of how dreams work, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2814941/ … and my typical mind fallacy - I rarely remember dreams, with little detail, so I lean to the "confabulate during the transition into wakefulness" viewpoint.
