Honestly, @alanmaceachern! His work makes me so happy when I read it. Especially the introduction to Method and Meaning, if you can make science and environment accessible to us non-scientific types, you’ve won in my books.
Thanks, Robyn. Blurb my next book!
John McManus
Gosh, I really enjoyed @Alan_Allport's Britain at Bay.
Tim Cook is an obvious Canadian choice.
@okeefehistorian's latest was a real page-turner.
It's on my to-read list, along with Moorhouse.
I really enjoy reading Fernand Braudel and Ian Kershaw.
Braudel and Kershaw both excellent writers.
In terms of things I’ve read recently, I thought @AdrianGregory20 ‘s The Last Great War was superbly written.pic.twitter.com/PfdPKpJ69a
Agree with Alan on Adrian Gregory. I would add David Stevenson and @RichardEvans36. Their '1914-1918' and 'The Pursuit of Power' respectively are super books in a superbly readable style. Two of my favourites. 'The Pursuit of Power' introduced me to and hooked me on C19.
