I think it’s more involved than that. They wrote a whole book about it in 1985.
Schuck and Smith are wrong but they’re not like Anton or Erler or Von Spakoffsky, hacks peddling prefab phony evidence for political masters. They’re real scholars and I respect them and only wish they would see the light.
