I have to say that "getting in the faces" of people in restaurants on the one hand and murdering people with bullets or sending them pipe bombs really match the textbook definition of "incommensurable" and we should also all be careful not to imply otherwise.

That sounds great, Prof. Epps, up until the minute that someone decides to “get in the face” of the opponent ... with a weapon. I just think it’s dangerous to promote physical confrontation as a political tactic. But we can agree to disagree.

And none of this "sounds great" to me. We are in a crisis and we are all looking for some glimmer of recognition of that fact from those with whom we disagree.
