You can board an airplane and cash checks and all kinds of other activities with those kinds of alternate IDs. You don't seem to have much experience doing things in America. The real world operates much differently than your assumptions. You must live a sheltered life.

Pretty sure you need a passport to board a plane. Go to your nearest airport and try take off using a college ID, I'll wait.

Passport to board a plane? No. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. My friend forgot her wallet yesterday and was allowed to board with alternate forms of ID. The voter ID system was designed specifically to exclude certain types of people, not for security.
