Hell yeah, I voted already. Oregon vote by mail is a thing of beauty. Paper ballots mailed to the voter. Filled in, signed, and mailed back or dropped off. Our voter turnout is awesome as a result. Low hacking risk. No polling place shenanigans.

There is always a deadline, and information can come out after voting in any system. Voting patterns are such that it changes campaign strategy, GOTV efforts, and last minute ratfuckery. Some voters vote right away. Some hold off.

Everyone should vote on the same day with the same availability of information. Perhaps somewhere there is an obscure document that describes such a system.

Ha I’ve worked on two campaigns in Iregon—before and after VBM—I can testify that the “no smear” thing is huge and altogether positive.
