Many new-Confederates in and out of the South cling to this invented notion that thousands of black people fought for the CSA. They did not; but many thousands wore Union blue, and their sacrifice turned the tide of the war.

Close to 200,000 black regulars in the Union army, and untold numbers of irregulars. These neo-Confederates also need a sharp reminder about the Fort Pillow massacre if they don't understand the Confederate standpoint toward the whole idea of black soldiers.
