Amazing how in just a short decade the very basic fundamentals have been forgotten by nearly all. Satoshi's whitepaper is more relevant now than ever! Now there are too many coders who think about coding prowess when the actual game is about pretty basic fundamental economics.

I'm going to say something unpopular here. I believe Core developers are excellent coders. Truly. But as you said, you can't treat Bitcoin like any other open source project. Working on Bitcoin means you need to have a rudimentary understanding of several fields.
-
Some fields that come to mind include psychology, economics, mathematics, and, of course, programming. I believe Core developers have the latter two in place, but I'm skeptical about the other two.
-
Satoshi's understanding of all four fields was what made Bitcoin succeed. It didn't succeed just because he wrote great code.

The code was well designed but was Alpha. I appreciate good code, but it was in need of TLC

One thing that fascinates me is that its understandable that the 'smart core devs' have an agenda to deny this, however what the heck is going on with the many educated supporters who miss to understand this, how dumb can one be, is it the fluoride in tooth paste or water?
