By ditching a few dumb mechanics, bosses naturally got easier. And I think that's fine. With chain casting removed, it actually makes fights better later on, too. Between knowing what to do and bosses having fewer dumb i-frame moments, the remake's definitely less frustrating.

Just so you know if the characters are off screen and you press the side character wheel button twice they should pop up next to you.
