One thing that came to mind here is that I don't think Good/Neutral/Evil NECESSARILY affects your bonds with other people. You could have a character who was Chaotic Evil because they do vile things… for a person they cherish. Not every Chaotic Evil character has to be Kefka

Especially since it's literally just mixing and matching two adjectives that paint the character's GENERAL morality and worldview in broad strokes at best; people are extremely complex and there's a LOT of wiggle room within each alignment, I would think

I'm really glad to see this video. My first group rarely brought our alignment up, but what we would do if it seemed like a break in usual character behaviour is IN CHARACTER we would question each other.

Glad to see alignment is more of story fluff now, why not have a LN Paladin of Wee Jas or some other death god who goes around like Judge Dredd and regulates life/death/undeath. Don't have to be good to tell that lich its been alive too long or is overstepping its bounds.

A very good video! I already use the tactic of not really putting much stock in the alignment. On one of my characters his alignment actually went from Chaotic Neutral to Neutral Evil only through play. Way more fun to develop characters that way.

I remember making character decisions and having my DM and other players get upset and threaten me with an alignment shift. Evil people will save lives if it benefits them and good people will do terrible things to protect others. Let the players play.

I personally feel alignment should just used to define what other characters and NPC's interpret your actions. The titles of say Lawful Good or Neutral Evil are for others benefit to define what they can't possibly know. The thought process of your characters mind.

Loved the video, but I had a topic I was curious of your thoughts on: Character Romance at Table. My orc and my friend's half drow were just married, and it was wonderful, but a fellow DM said he wouldn't have allowed it in his games after telling him. Thoughts?

I've got players new to D&D 5e, and for some reason Alignment is a major thing for them. Not wanting to create the difficult situations you mention I've opted to leave alignment blank to start. Instead we are going to figure out there alignment based on their actions in game.
