This may be a dumb question, but have you ever played Lands of Lore: the Throne of Chaos? One of my favorite CRPGs of all time, and made by Westwood. They used the ideas from their D&D games (like the one you're playing here). I highly suggest it.

Super good and has some voice acting from Patrick Stewart! That's not to say that any of the other voice acting is any good...

There really are so many underrated games based on D&D. What's more is anyone who's familiar already knows the basic rules of the game, destroying any learning curve! Looking forward to seeing this new one :)
