the early printings had gods from H.P. Lovecraft, including Cthulhu.
unfortunately, Lovecraft's work was still under copyright and hadn't entered the public domaim
which meant that TSR was committing copyright infringement (which is illegal)
this, Cthulhu copies were pulled from shelves, but some of them still got sold before the recall
since only one printing had Cthulu and was pulled early on, this is a ludicrously rare book
poor dragon looks like he's been through some shit and is now accepting a consoling shoulder grab from his buddy
Aw yeah. Back when gods had portfolios and one of them was probably "Stranglin' All Kinds of Dragons."
omg yes! That's the book my DM uses and it for sure 1st edition, not sure on the rarity tho.
It's what us druids and clerics use to pick our deities to follow (:
I owned this as a kid and gave it to my DM. Hope I didn't screw myself out of a vast fortune.
I used to have this :( I always thought this D&D book had the coolest cover art.
D&DG was reprinted many times often with significant changes. Early printings are rare for the Cthulu inclusion.
just wanna say Jared your wedding ring is beautiful
i just checked the value and your holding about $200 right there
According to a friend of mine, it's rare because the first print had a bunch of copyrighted stuff. Looks like it's the one, too.
Oh hey, I have that too! I know it was a bit of a black mark on TSR since it includes stuff from copyrighted material
That's the rare one
