What Square did here in unacceptable. They should have either let the developers continue development, or cancel it. There was potential in here.

The Game clearly needed at least 2 more years of development, but no, Square-Enix decided to make a quick buck, cause they had no faith in the project at all, and didn't had the decency to cancel it.

such a shame. There's so much awesome that could be done with the premise of a deaf protagonist, but they decided to just shit into the shower drain instead.

Did they even consult any deaf or hard-of-hearing people about this? Did Human Head Studios even consult any people about any of this? This seems, no pun intended, extremely tone deaf and frankly insensitive.

Then, looking at Human Head Studios' project list... I'm not sure a game like this could be handled well from them to begin with..
