I just don't enjoy the core sets as much as the others. Part of the enjoyment for me is the set themes and you just don't get that with core
Doing the M19 pre-release tonight. What do you guys think so far? It feels slower than Dominaria, more emphasis on spells and 4+ mana creatures. Your thoughts?

I kind of like the lack of theming in the cards, if only because it harkens back to how Magic was when it started. No keywords or synergies spelled out, just a bunch of "stuff". Very different feel.

I can understand that. I actually don't care for some of the synergy type things either. I do enjoy the themes regarding the "lore" and art! In all honesty the art is usually my favorite part. My husband is the true Magic player. I refer to him as the MTG Encyclopedia

#DnD that have been playing magic. They told me that there is an online game you can go to relearn the rules and to try a few draft tickets. Sorry, I’m still learning up, too. XD

Yeah a little bit slower, even with better two drops there seem to be a lot of board stalls. The menace creatures can do a lot of work.

it's a core set so it's bound to be nuts and bolts, which is going to change the speed compared to Dominaria (slows good for my favorite format, though, EDH). I'm not fond of all the vanilla and super basic stuff, but that's core sets. I'm just ready to get a Liliana's Contract

I'm excited, while its definitely slower core sets have always been good for helping new players to get a better entry to the game. Plus the new legendaries look interesting, with some solid reprints as well.

The green black elf uncommon is a workhorse, 2 mana drops are relevant, and be careful of almost all of the mares.
