The only thing that's funny is that it almost seemed like bullying to tag-team that bug catcher kid.

The games have always felt that way, strolling through a nursery, beating the pets of children aged 3-4 into unconsciousness and THEN just to add insult to injury, you force the child to hand over their absolutely meagre amount of cash.
-
Yeah. They have, haven't they? I just think it was funny that they chose to showcase it that way in the preview. Not some epic fight. Not some unbeatable Pokemon that REQUIRED help. No. Let's attack a child from both sides!
-
They know their audience well, certainly gets me more hyped knowing me and a friend can go around beating up kids and their pets before I inevitably turn on my friend because THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE very best in the world.

Everything about it looks like the perfect hybrid of the core games and Go. As someone who has never played any of the core games, this looks like the perfect way to ease someone into the series.
-
It's not really a series you need to be eased into, imo
-
Well, no, not overly hahaha. I worded it pretty poorly because there's just so much happening on Twitter right now
But I do think it's the best way to take someone from Go to the rest of the franchise. Like, I get how the main games work, but plenty of other people might not.

But can you actually fight pokemon, or do you just throw pokeballs at them, man?! You've got the in with Reggie!
-
I saw some fighting in the video but they were basic attacks. My guess is this is a watered down casual game and the next gen rpg will be 2019
-
If so, I'll be disappointed. I'm worried the next core game will only be on handhelds. If it comes to the Switch, I'll be happy. :D
-
If they only put the next core title on 3ds I’d be shocked although Nintendo has made some illogical moves in the past. By end of next year the 3ds should be phasing out. I could see both systems getting versions but switch must get the superior version.
-
They've said previously that the 3DS will continue in parallel to the Switch. They've also said they think Pokemon really belongs on a handheld because it's part of that whole 'journey' thing... But the Switch is a handheld... kind of! :D
-
Agreed but they also said that the DS would be a 3rd pillar. They’ll push it until seals drop below a certain number. My guess is that’ll be next year.
-
if you pay attention during the battle you'll see that it's the traditional battle system, complete with up to 4 moves and PP. It goes by a little quickly but it's easy to notice

Congratulations, Pokémon Company. It took you an industry record of 20 years to add co-op to something that needed it.

The gameplay itself just looks boring. I'm glad it isn't a core series title, otherwise I'd be very upset.

Same. Playing a Pokémon game with a Pokéball controller is everything I've wanted since 1997, even though I didn't realize I wanted it.

I legitimately cried when I watched the trailer. I’ve been waiting for this my entire life.
