I’m not an expert on biometrics, but I’d be uneasy relying on that claim. I think a lot of facial biometric systems use the area around the eyes as a relatively immutable set of data points. (Think of how you can still identify a racing driver with their helmet on...)

Not so sure about the racing driver. It’s rather easy to recognise one because there are not many of them. A helmet is sufficient to drastically narrow the target population in this case.
