The conclusion can’t be ”we’ll let big corporations collect our data because they’re slightly less bad at securing it than we are”. That’s like saying, “this crane driver might not know how to land a plane, but he handles big machines, so at least we’ll crash a little bit later”

The problem lies in giving one entity an immense amount of power over many people. Regulation won’t solve that (see your latest tweet). The market needs alternatives so easy to use that they transform our definition of privacy and data use without forcing us to make compromises.
