We all say we want privacy, but we don't really seem to take it seriously. @fmanjoo writes that it's time to stop shrugging about privacy.https://nyti.ms/2KsnONp

While sated Americans traded their privacy for convenience the insidious dark forces exploited our complacency to undermine democracy. There IS a direct line from sharing payment info on Venmo to tampering with our elections. @GetMezu protects democracy with #Privacy in #payments

It's not on people to "take privacy seriously" when the digital ecosystem is designed to subvert their expectations & preferences, it's on the companies doing that to stop exploiting them. This is like blaming climate change on people who don't carpool instead of on Exxon.

wanna share your stories with @torproject onionsite links, instead of http://bit.ly  links which have integrated surveillance?

We take it seriously, but alternatives aren’t always available, changes are life disrupting and take time and effort.
