Essentially similar to the amp part of rampart wall when ads'ing.

I don't like this approach because it removes the moment of vulnerability for Gibby when GS is down and the moment of success for the enemy when they pop the gunshield. Instead I'm thinking of making it so excess damage to gunshield bleeds through.

All due respect because you know more about this than me, coming from a season 0 player: - The moment between Gibby ADSing and the gun shield popping is almost never noticeable. - There’s no excitement when gun shield breaks. Just frustration that no actual damage was done.

I mean, your second point is almost certainly correct. I'd wanna check that gunshield damage does count toward EVO (it should IMO), but I'm afraid that just giving him another 10% DR will feel shittier in the long run.

That’s totally fair. I just find it encouraging that you guys/gals notice there needs to be something changed about it. While I have your ear, has there been any discussion about a test playlist to test future balance changes? Or is that just too much?

There's a lot of logistics that would be required to make that work. It's something I want for sure, and it's been discussed before, but as always in game dev it's a question of prioritization. Say if the people who could set this up would be the same people currently...

One thing I want to add on prioritisation though... Nobody asked for a caustic buff. At what point did the office decide this? He’s very strong already as a defensive player and in the right hands, offensive too. ult is OP and traps are OP to then give him a faster deploy rate

I’m no game dev, but changing a cooldown time from 25 to 20 seconds without changing any mechanics seems like it’d be relatively easy compared to the other things we’re discussing.

Yup! That one was super easy to do (it took me about 10 minutes to do and verify, and 2-3 playtests to convince me it wouldn't hurt the game) and Caustic is in fact one of the weakest characters in the game.
