I just love the fact that we as a society mostly are too dumb to understand the science behind things. But we will argue and fight those that do understand them 
I feel like for a lot of people it's just a defense mechanism. They don't want to feel dumb, so they pretend to understand more than people who have spent their lives studying a subject...because they have access to google. A lot of people lack critical thinking skills too.
