I get that teams don't want to show their strats or intricate gameplay until season starts, but I find it pretty disrespectful to the fans who have been waiting over half a year to see their favorite teams compete again. I don't think the teams should give away any competitive advantage in a showmatch when the league starts next week.

Simply playing your real role in a showmatch doesn't give away too much information, like OWL players in Ranked. You don't have to show tactics just because you play your main hero. In this case, imo Paris Eternal aren't doing any favors to future fans in their initial showing.

Why give away any information if you can choose not to?

Because 1. I don't see minor details as a main support actually playing his main support hero as a "give away". 2. Not playing at least some historically realistic composition (NOT META) makes it less enjoyable for everyone, and it also doesn't do any favors for anyone involved.

It gives away habits that can be exploited. I can't see any benefit in taking it remotely seriously, at least competitively.
