Thanks to your efforts, coronavirus rates remain relatively low in Wales, and more and more people are being fully vaccinated every day. This means we can move to Alert Level 0 from 6am Saturday 7 August. Further details ⬇️

There will be no limit on the number of people you can meet indoors or outdoors, including in private homes, public places or at events. The few remaining businesses who were still required to be closed, including nightclubs, will be able to reopen.

You will no longer legally have to wear masks in hospitality settings where food and drink is being served. But we still encourage you to wear them in those settings where this is practical.

If you’re fully vaccinated or under 18, you’ll no longer need to isolate if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has coronavirus. You'll still need a test on days 2 and 8. And anyone who tests positive must isolate for 10 days.

Businesses, workplaces and places open to the public must take reasonable measures to minimise the risk of coronavirus. They will also have more flexibility to tailor their coronavirus measures based on their risk assessment - this may mean less emphasis on physical distancing.

It is everything you have done, and the hard work of our vaccinators, that means we're able to lift restrictions further and see some normality. But the virus is still with us and some important protections will remain in Wales.

You must isolate immediately and get a test if you have coronavirus symptoms. If you test positive you must isolate for 10 days. You will still have to wear a mask in most indoor public places (including public transport, shops and healthcare settings).

Please - take up both doses of the vaccine. It offers us the best protection against this awful virus and we’re very proud of our world-leading vaccination programme here. If you’re yet to take up the offer, please do so as soon as possible:https://gov.wales/get-your-covid-19-vaccination-if-you-think-you-have-been-missed …

As we move away from legal restrictions, taking responsibility means we can get back to doing the things we've missed the most. Diolch for respecting the restrictions and for saying yes to the vaccine. You have helped to keep Wales safe.
