I cannot wait to vote for Elizabeth Ann Warren!!!

But if all we see ourselves doing is critiquing how others (people who really care and fight everyday) are engaging in the political process, and many times out of survival, we may want to self-reflect on how we are also contributing to elitism and political lethargy.

Instead of being angry w/many of us who care about marginalized communities, let’s work to mobilize/organize, work to register people to vote, drive to the polls, work to help people complete their Census, teach young people about civic education, train people on lobbying.

We should all be angry by Trump. But none of that means our responses will be the same.

Many of your material conditions haven’t changed & you are still brunching, still in your graduate programs, still gainfully employed, & still have the luxury of your only real anger being with Democrats who critique candidates and having to write more angry tweets than usual.

And let’s be honest, many of us are merely borrowing the oppression others are actually experiencing as a result of Trump. The people I work with and are often — from Ohio, Kansas, Georgia, Texas, and Alabama.

Critiquing candidates is not harmful. Some say “Republicans fall in line while Democrats eat their own” as if falling in line is a standard in which to subscribe. We say this as if we didn’t just have a Democrat for eight years.

We do this by vetting, especially during the primaries. This doesn’t mean people are looking for a Puritan as we know that isn’t realistic, but it does mean wrestling with the fact that some issues may matter to folks than other issues. This shouldn’t shock or offend us.

The one who isn’t just pragmatic but will actually push us in a better direction. The one who we can hold accountable. Many people don’t have the privilege of just electing someone because they have a “D” next to their name. Not right now at least.

I will never be an #AnyoneButTrump voter. I make no apologies for this because we shouldn’t just want anyone. We should want the right one. The one who can get us to better progress. The one who can coalition build.

Also, I did formal work performance reviews for three people. My first time as a manager and in a leadership role. Whew. The things I’m learning and how I’m growing.

And I know she’ll place top 3 which is incredible. Amazing for a country that isn’t ready for a woman President. Also, Buttigieg is still arrogant and unqualified. #IACaucus

One reason I’m happy is because no one knew where Warren would place in the Iowa caucus. Many pundits were as confused as pollsters. She was seen as the “wildcard.” #IACAUCUS2020 #IowaCaucas
