Breaking: SONG Leaders chain themselves to Durham County Jail entrance! We are stopping any more Black mothers and caregivers from being caged. Judge Evans and Judge Hudson refuse to eliminate bail so we will stop the caging ourselves.

It is normal to want to feel desired — married or single. Women are not mere extensions of their husbands. I imagine Ayesha Curry’s recent comments only bother those who expect being desired to only be applicable inside a marriage. And you would be wrong.

I don't want to be associated with a feminist practice that sees a woman talking about her very normal insecurities and mental health struggles as an opportunity to take her down. Yuck.

And can we PLEASE stop discussing “fetal heartbeat” as if a fetus would survive on its own outside the womb? But who cares about science, right?

Fetal heartbeat bills are ALL bullshit. The majority of pregnant people don’t even know they are pregnant until AFTER the time noted on the legislation. It is just a way to criminalize poor people, especially Black women.

Sandra Bland should still be alive. We desperately need more critical thinking about the role of police and the narratives they feed us. If her video helps someone get there, all the better. I’m too furious to add anything else constructive at the moment.

I haven't seen a lot of coverage about this. There will be a MAJOR strike Wednesday affecting the most used rideshare apps. In part, Uber drivers are striking to demand a living wage. If you planned to use Uber or Lyft tomorrow, consider alternate travel modes.

This is... UGH! Black and Brown law students and young lawyers bust our asses! We take out 100-200K to pay for our schooling, be in debt, and try to save the world just for wealthy white celebrities with an alleged passion in justice reform to center themselves in this work!

This is a travesty and anyone cheering on this piece of legislation is one step away from also losing rights that matter to them. Remember: all of this is connected.

Criminalization of public health is never the answer. We cannot criminalize people into health seeking behaviors, and that's what legislators are attempting to do when it criminalizes abortion, HIV, sex work, and LGBTQ people, among others.

Sexual and reproductive health and rights is not just about health, but about rights. The right to your own body and to be protected from the state. The right against government intrusion. The right to create (or not) families the way you see best.

People capable of becoming pregnant are not running around getting pregnant just to terminate. Abortions aren’t being used as birth control & every time you use your one friend is the fodder these racist, misogynistic legislators need to pass this kind of ridiculous legislation.

Hear me again: this bill would criminalize abortion, with possibilities of life imprisonment and the death penalty. This bill, unlike some others before it, also applies to those who self-manage their own abortions.

It is the most extreme abortion ban in the country and will impact Black and brown women, poor people, those who lack access to health care services, and others capable of becoming pregnant (including trans and nonbinary people).
