    Our discussion of absolute truth has nothing to do with dogma or "belief." In fact the absolute truth we are describing comes only when we let go of such relative belief systems.

    Fear is preserved by our refusal to look at it. Since the inception of our fear, we have assumed that it is threatening. We have spent a lifetime defending against it, certain of the danger it poses.

    When we do something completely unrelated to the fear, we prove ourselves that not only is the fear powerless to make us react, it can't even hold our attention. We aren't to simply ignore the fear, while inwardly being filled with anxiety.

    Any time a therapeutic intervention succeeds, no matter the school of thought, it is because the fear at the root of a problem has been fully revealed and worked through. Any time it fails, it's only because this root has not been reached or transformed.

    Fear keeps us from looking at it to see directly what it is. And when we avoid looking at fear directly, we keep it alive. But the inverse is true- look at fear directly, without reservation, and you can cast it away!

    It's time to pull back the curtain of our fear and see that it is an illusion, the result of made-up ideas about who we are and what reality is. And the way to prove to yourself that the fear is not real is to face it, as much as you are able without getting overwhelmed.
