In addition, the police guard post was burnt down and four compounds were set ablaze while three were vandalised. Meanwhile, five police officers have been arrested and their services suspended while investigations are being carried out.

The officers are two Field Commanders: Supt Babucarr Cham and ASP Musa Fatty and three other ranks - Nuha Colley, Momodou S. Jallow and Musa Badjie.

Six civilians in the persons of Ousman Jassey, Sunkaru Jarju, Bakary Badjie, Salifu Darboe and Modou Kujabi were arrested. Efforts are on the way to grant them bail.

The matter need to be critically looked into as two Gambian families are involved. The police are the Gambians as well as the protester so we need not to look the to the matter one sided. Fact need to be established and those found wanting face the full force of law.
