The Presidency has learnt with regret the unfortunate incident about clashes between some PIU officers and some natives of Faraba, which sadly led to lost of lives and injuries. The Office of the President is monitoring the situation and President Barrow is being briefed.

The civilians wounded are: Sulayman Jammeh, Sainey Sonko, Amadou Nyang, Sir Dawda Daffeh, Babucarr Jobe and Alhagie Camara. And the three PIU officers wounded are: Modou Dem, Alieu Camara and Momodou Jallow.

What lead to this unfortunate event is the government not taking environment issues seriously and defending irresponsible investors. The environment minister must resign, IGP must be fire and the community of Faraba should sue the government for murdering it's citizens.
