So don't. Take a moment and read some perspectives on gatekeeping like I mentioned. There is a lot of them, they're easy to find and it might help you understand where people are coming from. You're asking me to discount what I've personally seen and experienced with GG...

... because you managed to avoid the uglier aspects of the movement. I get that. Can you, instead, point me in the direction of whatever it was I missed? Just telling me that I just had bad luck and talked to the wrong people isn't that convincing.

I already explained this. Just look at the voices that objectively received the most support. The fact that they received the most support indicates that they were broadly shared within the movement.

Which I did, but I'll reiterate. Since it was a leaderless, decentralized movement >my< perceptions of who constituted that group may be different than yours. Who would you recommend I start with? If I just go with who shouted the loudest and got the most views... Assholes.

Because dude, a lot of the trolls and angry ranters were >popular< and loud. This right here is one of the more reasonable conversations I've ever had with a GGer, and you haven't really been able to give me much information about your cause.

Like, if I chat with a Communist on line, they can give me >reams< of information about their philosophical thought leaders and point me at stuff to read. I don't agree with them, but they are happy to share.

And the same applies to GamerGaters, and the GGers I've seen don't care either way about women in gaming. They cared about ethics (initially) but the movement has since morphed into a more general movement against the influence of political ideologues in gaming.

How in the world would you keep a political ideology out of art? That's literally impossible. Do you mean 'political ideologies we don't like'? That's a thing.

What I mean by this, is SJW ideologues trying to police what games are and aren't allowed to depict, what gamers are and aren't allowed to say, et cetera. This is more related to the whole Anita Sarkeesian thing than Gamergate, but those movements quickly merged together.

Sort of like how the GG and the incel groups have merged together?
