One thing I didn't mention that a lot of people have helpfully pointed out is that you still need a decent computer to run Dolphin. There's other potential improvements of course: * Spectator mode (tournaments!) * Skill-based matchmaking + ranked (to keep players playing longer) * Allowing training wheels (auto L cancel and tap jump off) in unranked But controllers and better low power performance are huge

Ease of access is very important, and breaking down barriers is immeasurably valuable. I'd say allowing an input buffer in unranked is up there as well actually, to help people to transition from ultimate easier. As long as they know they can't have that in ranked, it's harmless.

This shouldn't be too difficult to do, right? It would just take a lot of work to make an interface.
i know ultimate people that are very close to getting into melee but won't because they use shield in X or jump in shoulder buttons or w/e. Are custom controllers without having to use the garbage "standard controller/pc mode adapter" a considerstion kr pssibility??
I mean personally I've used x360ce to remap without a problem, but perhaps I just wasn't sensitive to the issues. It didn't look like it was on fizzi's roadmap, so I might bring native remapping up to him since it's gotten a bunch of requests in my mentions to the above tweet

"Unranked" is game changing imo.
Training wheels on could be its own separate queue for MM. There can be an ranked, unranked, and then beginner level queue so that mid level friendlies don't have to deal with ALC enabled players
I don’t think training wheel stuff should be allowed in unranked unless it has a separate playlist. Even though it’s not ranked, it’s all some people will play and it’s not fun playing against someone with an advantage.
