You seem to be missing the point. It's not just about the loss of jobs, it's about journalism being necessary to a well functioning democracy. It's checks and balances. With a bare bones editorial staff, there's not as much time or resources for watchdog journalism.

I'm sorry that's been your experience. Not sure if by media if you mean national or community, but I encourage you to check out the newspapers covering small towns around the country at http://newseum.org . We are doing important work on very limited resources.

Denver is a metro area, sure, but it's pretty far down the list in terms of population, ranking 19th in the country. Considering it has just double the staff our suburban weekly staff has... I would argue it's a fairly small operation. But I didn't come here to argue

@katiewoodphoto made this video before the most recent round of 25 job cuts was finalized. There are now several more people that have to be removed from the picture for it to be up to date. In other words, it's only getting worse.#AldenExposed#newsmattersThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

LOL that's one reason they're failing. The main reason is the bias that drips, bleeds from social media posts by "journalists". I'm so pleased when one of them gives me a glimpse into their leanings. I keep thinking their bosses will quash the posts, likes, retweets, but nope...

I'm unsure what you're referring to... I'm not 'liking' the article because I 'like' the situation. I appreciate the coverage of tough topics.
