Personally I feel journalists should be intermediating academic/complex topics into more accessible format. Little inclination. "Too boring"

There is a bit of that with Newsroom etc. Resistance at both ends though - academics wary of dumbing down - journos wary of toning down

Hard to do anything justice in 750 words or 5 min CA segment. Maybe universities should start their own media vehicle. Not PR/communications

On a tangent, Pentagon has 10k people creating & packaging "material" for media. That's propaganda but the principle is "making it easy"

Plenty of press releases around ;-) that is how scoop survived. A bit wary of reading long form content myself. But that is what some like.

I was thinking more like a 1500-2000 word synopsis of MA/PhD thesis or research papers. No one has the attention span for 5000+ these days
