Some have asked about the fence coming down today that has been in front of the Justice Center. It has been p for more than a week and we recognize that for some it has become a symbol of divide between the police and the community.

Our hope is that the nightly violence and destruction around the justice center will stop and the focus can be directed toward peaceful conversation. The inner fence will remain in place while the county side is repaired.

So that gives you the ok to be above the 1st amendment? Looooooool. You send riot police (or as you call them “peace officers”) to beat anyone and everyone including medics, and journalists. You are the ones inciting violence.

Quit pretending you don't know what the community wants. It's pretty obvious at this point. People want the police to stop operating like an unaccountable paramilitary force that thinks it can unilaterally "close" all of downtown every night and flood the streets with tear gas.
-
COMMUNITY: Stop killing us POLICE: But what do you even want?!
