This is a greedy move from Twitch. People are justifiably upset about missing live content in the middle of a stream. There are plenty of options to have ads that don't interrupt the ONLY reason people are on this platform (banners, ads that temporarily block chat, etc).
I would love for cable TV to implement this. Season finale of your favorite show? Try some dang heckin chicken why don't ya.

Yeah it's rough with a live TV platform. I can't imagine any form of live broadcast implementing randomly timed commercials. Seems pretty not great.
