the way she almost treats it like a competition of who suffers more? Then tries to turn it around and say “we’re the same.” you don’t have to be a genius to know that trans women suffer on a higher scale than cis women..and this bitch can’t even LISTEN to them? jfc

how are the plights of trans women relevant to her discussion about her OWN personal experiences of rape and abuse in Hollywood?? she’s not there discussing women’s issues as a whole she’s discussing industry abuse

"you should be fucking grateful" well first of all, no one owes you anything, if you do things to help a certain cause you don't do it to get flattered for contributing. You do it to help bring awareness and help the victims affected.

She keeps centering the movement on herself. I get major “I’ll help, but only if I lead” vibes from her.

Lemme say what i see from the outside not knowing who either of these women are: one woman attacking another woman who is trying to tell her person story of survival, because she's not telling it in a way the other woman wants her to tell it. That's what I see without bias.

And that sucks. I get that she has feelings about Rose or whatever but maybe this wasn't the time or place.

Not ideal, but I guess where else could she approach McGowen? I don’t think McGowen needed to freak out like that. She has much more power in the world. She should be able to tell her story. And she is, w her huge platform. She was punching down. & apparently she has a history

I understand freaking out. She's at a book reading telling her story. Hell I can barely tell my stories, some of my stories, to my therapist 1on1. If someone yelled at me when I was trying to tell a group? I don't get angry and I might snap too.

Now of course I don’t agree with anyone taking someone’s spotlight and making it about them and their experiences so that’s where the trans woman was wrong but I also feel like roses’ response and reaction was a bit more aggressive and dismissive...
