Please get rid of all your pedophile priests and the bishops and cardinals who enabled them. Your response to the sex abuse scandal has been a devastating disappointment to those of us who hoped you would move our Church forward. The obvious answer is women priests.

Until the Catholic Church allows women priests, married priests and fully accepts the LGTBQ community within its walls, I’m out. The Pope has been progressive on so many issues but has fallen so short here - I hope he finds the courage to do something to rectify it.

For me the Church is Christ, so I haven't left. And I am a great believer in fixing from within. But as my tweet suggests, I totally agree that Francis hasn't gone nearly far enough. And it pains me to witness as a lifelong Catholic, woman, lesbian and sexual assault survivor.

Every time I tried to return over the years I was rebuffed by another more conservative, hardline priest or nun about as far from the spirit of Christ as one could get. I also knew a few who abused their position so can’t go anymore. But I appreciate those trying to change it.
