So why not give women equal power and rights in the church, @Pontifex? Sounds like we’re pretty essential to God’s vision of the world.

So that’s why there are so many women in leadership positions in the church? Just offering lip service about equality doesn’t actually remedy any power imbalance.

Dear Kate, just wanted you to know that the angst that women feel is unique to America. They don't feel the same way in Europe.

First, I can guarantee that’s not true. Second, this is yet another method men use to shut women down. Maybe try it on a European woman and see if you have any more success.

Love you, but times they are a changin' and the church cannot live in the past. When threatened with extinction you either move, adapt, or die. Time for the church to move and adapt.

The Church never changes, society changes. The Church is our anchor.

And what an anchor against positive progress it have proven to be, time and time again.
