I lost my grandma recently, I wish I would have called her more. I've lost all my grandparents except for one..sadly he doesn't really know me.

Go find him
-
I know where he is. He was 15 when he had my mom, he was sent away. My grandma kept my mom and married later my step grandpa. My mom's real dad has a whole new family. That my siblings and I don't fit into, and seem unwelcome by his children.
-
Even if it’s uncomfortable what’s more important to you
-
Leaving him alone with the life he's got because he's almost gone.
-
Sometimes this is the most loving thing you can do.

Yes, Papa. Cherish them. So many never knew their grandparents and miss so much of their family history.
-
My grandmother lived through two world wars in Italy before moving with us to Las Vegas in early 60's. She was far tougher than any of us. I don't know if I could survive the things she did. But I am the best of her and I don't ever forget it. She taught me to be a strong woman.

Amen Papa
My grandpa taught me how to pray the rosary. He would always say: never forget your roots and never be afraid to follow truth -- wherever it may lead.
May he rest in peace..⚘ -
He sounds like a wise old gentleman.

Thank you. Grandparents are a crucial link to children’s history and culture. They make sure those roots are firmly planted.

Unless they were/are abusive. Right? ......right?
-
There’s always *that person*

-
Because there's always *that parent* and clearly you don't know what it's like to begin told you should have a relationship with your parents when you barely survived your childhood. Now there's two *that persons*.
-
I’m well aware of what it’s like to not have those relationships and Pope is aware too. He’s not oblivious, and shouldn’t have to list every other scenerio, when sharing one kind message.
-
He shouldn't make blanket statements then. It's really not that difficult. Everyone needs to be responsible for the words they choose to speak, because I know parents who will screenshot his tweet and use it to gaslight their children.

I miss my grandmothers! My dad gave me my grandmum's diary from 1912, when she came to the states from England via ship. She met my grandfather during the sail here. I just KNOW God made that happen! She was supposed to arrive on the Titanic, but had to change ships last minute!
-
Wow amazing definitely made for each other. Lovely story.
-
A tragic love story
in the end. Grandfather was poisoned by chlorine gas in WWI, which damaged his lungs. Then came WWII & he served again, already ill from the first war. He died in his early 50s, leaving grandmum alone. She never married again, as he was her life's love -
Oh that’s sad. But they’re together now.
