People who can't create their own stuff will co-opt the creations of others for their own message. Whatever, can't stop it from happening but the creators of a work definitely should have final say over the message their own work is trying to convey.

I respectfully disagree. It feels weird and reductionist to imply that only “people who can’t create” have the ability to interpret media in different ways. Literally everyone does this. And sometimes those alternate interpretations are positive ones.

So what if it is? Or not. People having issues with sexual preferences in 2021 need to crawl back to the cave they came from and stay there.

why is it every time two male characters have a close friendship/relationship, they have to be gay? is it homophobia? heterophobia? i have some male friends that i have known for many years and are very close to, i love them. loving your friends doesnt make you gay, nor straight.
-
There are plenty of same sex friendships in movies people don’t interpret as romantic. This movie in particular has themes adjacent to “coming out” so it is more understandable to interpret it as possibly romantic.

Great movie for everyone. It's sexuallity that has covered our eyes to the real message being sent. It's okay to be different.
